The United Arab Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital from BLU-MED Response Systems® is providing free medical treatment to hundreds of patients a day affected by the severe economic and health crisis in the African nation of Sudan.

Expected to be in service for three years and operated by 32 Emirati doctors and 16 Emirati nurses, the BLU-MED 25-bed mobile hospital is equipped with a surgery theater, radiology, intensive care unit, an emergency and accident unit, first aid care unit, and sterilization unit.

Dr. Ahmed Al Sayyed Mohammed Abu Zeid, who is in charge of surgery with Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital, currently operating in Juba, South Sudan, told Emirates News Agency (WAM), “Successful surgeries have been conducted, including recurrent inguinal hernia, lipoma left shoulder, lipoma scalp and irreducible inguinal hernia, adding that breast mass, thyroid swelling and chronic calcular cholecystitis operations will be conducted soon.”
