BLU-MED Prepared for Stricter US Military Ebola Quarantine Rules
United States Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel on Oct. 29 approved a mandatory 21-day quarantine for United States military personnel serving in Ebola stricken areas of West Africa.
The U.S. has 1,000 troops in the region, and the force could grow to as many as 4,000 in coming months, according to a CNN report.
The U.S. military’s policy shift came one month after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave a worst-case estimate that as many as 1.4 million people in Sierra Leone and Liberia could be infected with Ebola by January.
The increase in troops, quarantine time and potentially infected residents could signal a greater need for fully equipped, turnkey BLU-MED Response Systems Ebola Treatment Facilities and Mobile Medical Facilities.
CDC guidelines set by the Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee make BLU-MED the ideal choice for rapid deployment Ebola Isolation Wards.
