Level III Field Hospital Displayed at 9th International Conference of the Royal Medical Services (RMS)
More than 600 medical specialists and 200 speakers from 85 countries around the world convened for the 9th International Conference of the Royal Medical Services (RMS) and Jordan Health Exhibition (JOHEX) held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre in Dead Sea, Jordan from October 30 to November 2. The four-day event showcased the latest innovations, technologies, and developments in the fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, allied health professionals, and military medicine.
This year’s event was inaugurated by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lieutenant General Mahmoud Freihat, and Royal Medical Services Director Major General Muin Habashneh. The event attracted and included the participation of many international aid and medical organizations, including:

“Leadership in Healthcare: Commitment and Challenges” was this year’s theme and focused on identifying the changes in healthcare practices needed to prepare health care providers for the challenges ahead. The final day concluded with a military medical exhibition by the Royal Medical Services, where participants learned how a mobile field hospital can be established in any remote area of the world within 24 hours and gained firsthand experience with the technologies and medical equipment used to support paramedic stations, field ambulances, a mobile biological lab, and Special Field Hospital No. 6 – a Level III field hospital, equipped with 50 beds from BLU-MED Response Systems®.
The BLU-MED mobile field hospital on display was purchased in 2015 and included the following medical equipment and capabilities:

The Level III mobile field hospital from BLU-MED entered service in 2016 as a gift from King Abdullah II to the Royal Medical Services. To date, the Level III field hospital, has been used in Jordan for military exercises and training programs along the Syria-Jordan border and to support pre-deployment training, as well as joint and combined military exercises at the King Abdullah II Special Operations and Training Centre (KASOTC) in Amman.
